the details of this complex coming back to life are lovely, the gold insets were completely worn, now a handsome mirror tile glitters as you ride past on a bike.

I've always admired this complex since moving to Toronto from Vancouver years ago. There was a time when government money was spent on architecture and some prowess. Attention to detail plus area for the public to relax in a garden with some fine statuary/art to admire as well.

Indeed, I worked in Ferguson Block in the late 80s and I loved walking in and around the complex. (The life of a public servant was something else altogether - I lasted 5 months before running back to the private sector!)

I mean we did recently hire Renzo Piano to design a courthouse a few mins from here.
I know where you are going though, the 1960s and 70s were full of grand modernist and brutalist public buildings constructed across the country. Now everything public is mostly glass boxes.

They'll look even better when they start to get rusted over, it will match the aesthetics beautifully.
