Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

I feel it's my duty to give drum118 weekly bridge updates.

No idea what's new here, but here's the shot. 🍺

A lot has taken place since I shot it.

All the construction equipment is gone along of the pile of scrap from the RR bridge, and it has been cleaned up.

You can see the new pier to the right that will support the new pedestrian/cycles bridge. The pier has 3 pads to support beams on it.

Looking that the new eastbound bridge, that west pier will be to the west of the excavator or between the eastbound and pedestrian pier to angle the mouth for the new westbound bridge.

That long beam will replace that short pipe over the Don now with a lot more cable space.

You can see how much of the Don River mouth will be widened compared to what there is today.

At the same time, I could be wrong on the pedestrian/cycles bridge.as that could be used for the watermain currently on the eastbound bridge sidewalk or it will be part of the westbound bridge.

Thought this was a cool sight.

Just on the other side of the shipping channel. Right next to the Lower Don Lands Redevelopment.

Is it salt or sand?

I stand to be corrected, but it used to be both salt and sand stored there. Coal was also stored there as well.

Thank you Ink Events and Rebel for building us this beautiful new bridge! It's not often a greasy night club put its money towards multi-million dollar civic infrastructure, but you did!
Nobody in the local dance music community in Toronto really likes Rebel, but unfortunately it's one of the few places with the capacity for larger dance gigs, and still somewhat central to downtown.

I mean, leave the car at home and take the transit would have been the more responsible messaging here. More time on the dance floor and less time trying to find parking.
