Was driving by this morning on the way to an appointment at Sunnybrook and saw that the home closest to the church was being demo'd.

The double height single story retail level with the sheet of curtainwall looks quite utilitarian and standard.
 
This project is moving very fast. I drive by it every day, and it is always a hive of activity. Here's to hoping to some interesting retail!
 
A nice cafe would be a good start. This area could probably sustain something like Balzacs or Boxcar Social! :)
I would think those kind of tenants would look to the larger redevelopments happening at Eglinton. Maybe the new LRT will increase pedestrian traffic in the area, but the lively retail is all located to the south (primarily south of Manor). Maybe this development creates a transition between the Bayview strip and Eglinton, but it will take time.
 
I took this last night, it was so strange seeing these homes gone. It's a great site for intensification, but living so close you get used to certain things. (I just realized this is basically the same image as the prior post, d'oh!)
