I've been thoroughly disappointed with this building. The form is great, and I found it really exciting at first. But the finishes are sub-par and the logistics have been a nightmare. Too bad; it had a tonne of potential.

Unfortunately, exterior glass that has not been cleaned on a semi-regular basis and over such a long period of time will inevitably become permanently etched from the dirt - at least to an extent. A wash will certainly improve it but it's unlikely to ever return it to its initial shine and clarity.

Based on the photos on this page, can anyone really say that this building looks dirty from typical distances? There is shine and reflection on the windows.

Must have something to do with the quality of the glass (and how much exposure to precipitation given the building's angles?). I can tell you that the glass on ICE2 is absolute rubbish. They missed washing the windows for my unit the first year, skipped the second and this year when they cleaned it you could barely tell the difference. Just covered in filth that won't come off with patches of an etched "smokey" appearance that are really visible in bright sunlight. Was much the same with my last place as well.

Didn't say there was no shine, just likely not as much as would have been the case had they been washed annually/semi-annually. Agree that in the bright sunlight there is still a lot of reflection.

Agreed. Those south and westerly views are incredible - FOR NOW. Unfortunately, in 5 to 10 years years time, the lake view will be almost completely obstructed by Pinnacle's One Yonge Street and Menkes' Sugar Wharf condo/office building developments, and perhaps more tragically, this person will no longer be able to see the CN Tower as it will be completely blocked by CIBC Square's North tower, not to mention the CBD bank towers which will be largely obstructed by the proposed tower at the midpoint of the Dominion Building.

Likewise for me (see the preceding photo), the CIBC Square North Tower will pretty much obliterate my view of the CN Tower. By my calculations, the top of CIBC Square North will line up with the underside of the green TD Canada neon sign atop the spire over Brookfield Place. For me, it is the CN Tower that "makes" Toronto's skyline so unique and remarkable.
