Toronto L-Tower | 204.82m | 58s | Cityzen | Daniel Libeskind

It would appear that they somehow forgot about the need to wash windows! Keeping the big crane must be costing the developer lots of $$ (and lots of embarrassment) but they do seem rather incompetent and I can't quite see why they are unable to finish the plaza and sidewalks.

Maybe not. There's clearly a delivery deck setup for the 2 storey penthouse.

Edit: It's overtop the sidewalk too.

Do you guys think the L tower crane will be used to take down the one on Backstage? (In addition of course to hoisting up its own window-washing rig in June)

It's a lovely idea but No. The Backstage crane will be removed in the normal way, the question is whether it will go before the one on the L-Tower.

Yes, that's how it's designed.

Hard surface paver installation almost complete along Front Street:

But more work to be done along the Yonge Street side:

Could someone explain how this new window washing structure will work? I'm having a hard time imagining what the plan is for that new red platform.

Looks like you might have called it: from http://ltowerconstructioninfo.com/2015/05/22/l-tower-may-23-29-2015/

"The L Tower crane remains in place to facilitate the lift and placement of the rooftop window washing crane assembly and it may be used to assist this week to help take down the Backstage tower crane."
