Makes me wonder how this installation will fare in its permanent spot in Vancouver- it feels like one of those artworks that require constant supervision unless you want people climbing all over it or hiding in it.

The location they've chosen for it seems highly public- unlike its original spot in Hyde Park.

I'd say so. Average is around $1K give or take so given the location and the design, I'm thinking your range is on the money.

I know I sound like a broken record but pricing here for precon is getting insane.

Insane or not, developers wouldn't be charging these prices if the demand wouldn't be there. Whether the demand is coming domestically or internationally, that's a different story.
