October 8 - It is getting going now. Photos of glass installation crew lifting up a skid of glass sections for installation.

Those bunks look awfully weathered... almost as if they've spent a couple years at an outdoor facility in Waterdown or something

October 9. More glazing installation, a couple of photos of second floor rough-in work, some overall pictures of the King Toronto building.

1. Glazing installation. Work seems to be going fairly slowly. Possible crew mobilization issues - an initial crew for site familiarization and working out the installation process, and / or waiting on additional staff to come free from other projects / new staff being going through the onboarding process. Hopefully something like this otherwise it is going to be a long process.

Photos from Thursday and Friday, October 10 and 11. More of the glazing and cladding has been delivered - photo of a delivery in the process of being unloaded. Another section of glazing has been installed along the south perimeter wall. Overall, it still appears that mobilization for installation of the glazing is still very slow. Forming work on the East Mountain continues to progress.

How high are the chances of the sealant between the glass blocks to fail and leak? What does long term maintenance look like for glass like this?

The glass blocks aren't integral to anything. It's a standard curtainwall frame with blocks mounted where you'd normally have glass or a panel.

The real leaks are going to happen at all of those transitions and interfaces. Inside corners, outside corners, stepbacks, balconies...

October 15: Spyder crane and installation crew on site working on the first glazing section (hopefully of several) of the day - approximately 8:15 this morning.

This post covers two more updates for King Toronto, the first from 12:30 this afternoon, the second from 4:30 after the work for the day was over.

MIdday - the section of glazing that was being started this morning has now been installed, and the Spyder crane moved over to in preparation to start the second section of the day. A couple of views of the building from the south.

East mountain looks like it has reached full height.

Later, at 4:30 this afternoon. Another section of glazing has been installed - makes a couple of complete sections (several panels) for the day. Lots more to be done....

Spyder crane moved another section to the east, in position for tomorrow's activities.

And finally, 5 PM, another skid of cladding, staged on the ground floor just off King Street.

Looks like the wait was very well worth it -from an aesthetic perspective.
