Hoping for some interesting retail.

Annnnnnd it's a Starbucks.

Ah. I guess that partly explains why Starbucks is not re-opening at King & George in the historic building that burned.

The nearby indie coffee shops like the Black Canary, Rooster and Neo are usually busy, so I'm optimistic this won't steal too much business from them. People seem to be either Starbucks lovers or Starbucks avoiders, in my experience.

I have no problem with this. Perfect location to grab something on the way home. :D

Still, did you REALLY expect something outside the norm?

It's a shame Starbucks is not reopening at King & George. That store had so much character, at least from the exterior. But going into the heritage portion of 251 King is a good alternative.

Now if I were a teacher and the architect of 251 King was my pupil, my final report card for him/her would be thus:

A+ Heritage facade preservation and restoration
B+ Tower design (north and west elevations)
B - Tower design (south elevation)
F Tower design (east elevation)

Overall Final Grade : B

To bad we can't get some section 37 money or requirement to bury the overhead hydro system during the construction of these new projects. Sure make the street look a lot better than it does today.
