Hosting one of the most important events in Chinese culture, the annual Tour East HolidaysToronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival celebrates its 15th anniversary as one of the hottest summer outdoor events in Toronto. The annual Tour East Holidays Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival brings culture, sport, multicultural entertainment and international flavours to Toronto Centre Island on June 21-22, 2003. Free, accessible and fun for all ages, the event brings paddlers and fans together to celebrate a legend that dates back over 2,000 years.
The Toronto Festival combines a sporting event - with over 210 teams competing in 110 races - with a cultural festival of continuous heritage entertainment on the Festival stage. Supported generously by national corporations and smaller local businesses, the Festival has proven to be a great opportunity for business networking.
In 1993, the Festival turned international and welcomes teams from across Canada, the USA, Europe and Asia.
The winner of Dragon Boat 2003-Tour East Holidays International Grand Championship Cup will represent Canada in the 2004 International Championship Races in Asia.
