Does anyone have any information about how the "loop" around Mississauga City Centre area will be incorporated now that the flyover is created?
It was my understanding the loop was previously proposed and designed prior to the flyover. How will it now work with it?
Also, is this going to be a convoluted mess now, or did we end up with something better at the end of the day with both the loop and flyover?
The loop will extend west of the Square One Terminal to Confederation then south to Burnhamthorpe and then back to Hurontario in the centre of the roads. As far as I know, the extension to Duke of York will remain on the north side of Rathburn as per the original EA. With the extension going to Confederation now, the EA will have to be updated and only then will we get a clear picture how the loop will be updated.
Burnhamthorpe/Hurontario intersection will have to be rip up to built the WYE connection that was supposed to be built last summer per the 2020-23 plan.

Had no plans to look at all the corridor until about March with a few odd spots before then, but that change on Sunday when my deck/computer chair shaft broke on the chair that wasn't 4 years old to go shopping for a new one and bring it home. I then did a full trip of the corridor by car.
Brampton
A crew was wiring a electrical box by the plaza. All the west fencing from south of Ray Lawson to the Police station was removed back in December that I wasn't sure if it was being removed or relocated based on what I saw that day.
No work taking place on the 407 bridge and only one set of tracks in the snow for a piece of equipment to be drop off that wasn't there in December
Crew digging the centre out at Barondale and no idea why.
Guild Electric installing new street light pole and traffic lights at Square One Dr. The poles are taller for the street light there as well a number of locations.
A police car sitting south of Fairview next to the guideway with no one around. 6 vehicles parked up on the shoulder of the road and no idea what the workers doing along the east side of the road. Nothing has taken placed in the guideway based on the piles of duct banks still in the same location on Dec 31,
The big change I saw for the guideway between King and Paisley that I maybe wrong, crew were shoveling snow off the concrete base of the guideway. If true, no idea when the based was poured.
Surveyors checking the area between Paisley and the Queensway.
Guild Electric was installing new tall street light post and doing other work south of the Queensway.
The retraining wall for Mary Fix Creek poured and looks like the base has been poured. Crew back filling the east retraining area. No idea how the high retraining walls will transition to meet the current elevation of the creek to the north as something has to take place to stop water getting up to the tracks and the area to the west in a flood condition. What got me was the double handling of material. A truck was loaded in the stage area near the push box with another truck dumping a load off. The truck being loaded would drive to the area being backfill to dump its load that only took a few minutes. to do and Hurontario shut down while the dumping took place.
3 Mobilinx white hats on site and I have never seen them before. One was a female. A crew was working above the push box and the existing track corridor support, and next to no work I could see for the station and guideway.
Looking at the barrier wall between the Guideway and Hurontario, more has to be built once there is no need for equipment and trucks to use that area
As for the OS poles as noted above, most of the corridor had the poles in place by the summer with a few area still missing poles. As for the station shelters post for platforms, they were all up by the summer and don't recall when the post went up for Eglinton and need to view some videos for that time frame as that when I saw they were in place. Not on my do list at this time.
Based on what I saw, very little work will be tracking place for the next few months and we will know more when the public meeting happens sometime in Q1 I hope.
