Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Was planning on doing something else today, but extra work show up. Once I finished it, still time to do things and decided to shot Hurnontario.

Was going to start at Elm and saw no excavator working south of Elm and that must be the one parked on Elm. Crews were placing the pylons onto the medium to allow all 3 lanes to be in service.

Looking at the trees walking toward Burnhamthrope, it look like most the trees could stay for the north stop. There would be some issues for the south stop on the north side of Burnhamthrope, but still workable. I noticed a number of tree stump from Burnhamthorpe to Robert Speck and a number of trees didn't look good. Best to cut them down now. 4 of the 5 trees north of Robert Speck in good shape, younger and easy to transport to another site. The 5th is dead.

About a dozen trees or so will be have to be cut down between Rathburn and the 403 for the elevated bridge over 403.

Work will have to take place under Hurontario Bridge to protect 403 traffic before the medium can be remove.

The pylons stop on the medium at Kingsbridge as I continue north to Nahani Way and shot the 2 tower sites there.

On my way back to catch a 103 bus at Eglinton, crews were installing pylons on the medium on the south side and a crew was just starting to go north of Eglinton placing pylons on the medium.

The City of Brampton is doing soil testing on Main Street for the LRT Extension study they are doing.

As it stands today, I have shot from Hillcrest to Nahani Way on the ground and have taken a Video from Central Pkwy to Park St; Park St to Steeles; Steeles to Central Pkwy before most of the remaining medium was still in place as before construction. I know I have shot parts of Hurontario in the past before the LRT surface and will add them to the LRT file if I can find them.

I have broken Hurontario down as Follow as some areas will see a lot more shooting than others and don't want everything lump in one file:

The LRT Extension Study along Main Street from Brampton Gateway Terminal to Brampton GO Station (aka Main Street LRT) is on the agenda for today's Brampton Committee of Council meeting. The Mayor just said he'd be moving amendment/motions to the transit item (live stream here; no idea what time they'll get to it). There will be a virtual consultation on June 22.

Here is the extracted report from (full agenda here): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1O_Kag46UxQQXwu9Xge0aKytWVHxIrmgD/view?usp=sharing

They simply don't deserve the funding anymore. They had their chance and they blew it.

That simply doesn’t make sense. You can’t punish the people of Brampton for a really bad decision their old council made. I am just as upset about them rejecting the HMLRT, but we have to now move forward and get transit built for the residents of Brampton.

But the people elected their council, which are representatives of the people. What's the point of democracy then?!
