Just occurred to me when looking at the first image above that for the catenary for electrification, there will be staggered poles on the overpass instead of parallel ones. cc @crs1026

From earlier this week - pulling down the old bridge guardrails over DuPont.

^I wonder if the removal is first step in rehabbing the bridge.... and will the old panels come back afterwards?

Some may see that old railing as junky old scrap steel and say good riddance, but for some of us it's still functional and actually a bit of a "heritage attribute".

Wallace Ave. was closed this morning. Looks like they're digging out the tracks from the road.

I wonder whether they'll re-grade Wallace under the overpass once the tracks are out. I thought I recalled seeing some early elevations where the roadway was dropped by ~0.5m.

That is the long term plan, yes.
