Seriously. it really shows how much land we are wasting by instead forcing all development into a tiny part of the city. We could have reasonable density throughout the city, instead of low rise and then an insane mass of towers in the middle, but lol no.So much low rise !!
That area would be perfect for condo developement, given its proximity to Fairbank station.Seriously. it really shows how much land we are wasting by instead forcing all development into a tiny part of the city. Definitely, but realistically, they were never going to be curtain wall...
There's a reason why that part of Fairbank is like our own San Francisco. The view is a little deceptive. I’m only on the 5th floor of my building but the building itself is on quite high ground, so I’m roughly at eye level with floor 20ish of many buildings downtown. It’s pretty much all downhill between here and downtown, so a lot of the buildings that are under 8 stories get obscured by the hills. The last stretch of mid rises I can see are on st Clair before the dip down. There is also the Rogers Road hill which makes the view of the low rise in the foreground seem, perspective wise, a little weird.
