Is there a design for the park? All I’ve seen is that the north landing side of the bridge is going to be an extension of Stanley Park but I haven’t heard of any actual design.

It’s a larger than expected parcel of land, nearly doubling the park size.

the newsletter posted in this thread in December states that it will be brought to "base park condition", which is just a sodded field. I assume a detailed park design will come at a later time.

Anyone know when this is scheduled to actually be completed and open to the public? The original press release when this first started said "spring 2017".. the way things are going I would be happy for spring 2019. A 3 year construction period for a pedestrian bridge is unacceptable. Why does this city seem to be so incompetent when it comes to cycling infrastructure? First the Don Valley trail closure, then the delays to the 10 year cycling plan, now this.

Anything "pedestrian" or "cycling" is low priority for the current (and just prior) city council administration.

Now, I don't think they'll be done by the end of July as originally outlined, but I'm gonna take a guess at the end of September.

The original schedule shown above had the approach structures completed in April.. Right now they would be lucky to get completed in July. Everything on this site is crawling. It looks like they've made barely any progress in the two months between the april and june photos in this thread..

Pretty sure the bridge will be offloaded, potentially assembled on these temporary supports, before being lifted into their permanent place.
