Doesn't look like it:

Seems the new roof will be slate:
"Other work to be undertaken by Empire includes installing new heritage-style windows, hoisting a representative shop-built cupola into place and a 12,000-piece slate finish on the steel roof. The original historic finish was slate, although the existing roof was covered in very old asphalt shingles, says Hoad, noting the developer will have a 100-year-life roof once the slate is in place."

Ward 20: Trinity-Spadina

Application#: 14 176783 BLD 00 BA Accepted Date: Jun 19, 2014

Project: Multiple Unit Building Other(BA)

The walkways through the middle of the block have now opened between the King and Adelaide Fashion House buildings. This connects through from the alley leading off Portland Street beside Gusto 101 in the west to Morrison Street on the east. It's great to see this mid-block pedestrian network starting to shape up.

I'm disappointed by how they placed (presumably) building services and spaces along the pedestrian walkway that necessitate shear walls. Even in terms of material, the best they could do was solid, concrete walls? Doesn't seem like a safe and inviting space to walk through.

Seems like the perfect spot for a post clubbing urination, drug deal and other types of debauchery, unfortunately. Pity the poor souls with balconies facing this area.

Yup. The front door to Uniun lies about 100 feet away. A direct neighbour to Fashion House is Everleigh.

Where are the babes in bikinis?

^ Seems silly to have to hire a security guard to monitor a walkway no? AND once again, the trees don't have adequate grates to let water through. Those are way too small! In Toronto especially, they need to be big. Guaranteed by end of summer, those trees will be dead.
They need be like this. This is how you grow a healthy tree.
