This building is now finished and occupied. Time for a quick walk around to look at some details. There is more to see around the site including a new public washroom facility and restored mill building that I didn't capture beside the new building.

The next phase is in early works, the shell of the building was removed to be re built (as seen in the rendering on the hoarding).

The stone veneer is actually a fairly good match to what is around town, and the balconies are generous in size.

This is from the path that leads to a new promenade that gives a great view over the waterfall. I will be rather disgusted if they decide to privatize the space, as it offers a great (and the only public) view of the waterfall and flowerpot rock.

These units along the promenade have neat brass railing too.

Bonus photo, the building on the left (the Gorge Cinema) received a facelift including the addition of the structure on the front.

It's really cool seeing these new rural tourism hotspots developing in Ontario like Elora, Blue Mountain, and PEC. Kingston has always had tourism pull, but it has made some impressive investments into its historic downtown recently, and the towns around it like Gananoque are seeing more tourism as well. More areas are becoming interesting and vibrant, and it's wonderful.
