Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Eglinton Avenue West has shifted to the south, west of Scarlett Road to the pedestrian bridge. Don't be surprised.

Not surprise at the shift, as it was ready on the 16th when I drove by it other than the new north construction fencing.

Renforth station is more like Pioneer Village than VMC though. I wouldn't really see the line as extending into Mississauga per se.
The address for Renforth Station is...

5001 Commerce Boulevard
Mississauga, Ontario
L4W 0B7

The border between Mississauga (Peel Region) and Toronto is down the middle of Eglinton Avenue, just like the middle of Steeles Avenue is the between Toronto and York Region. Renforth Station is on the north side of Eglinton Avenue, therefore it is in Mississauga (Peel Region).

Maybe Toronto should invade peaceful takeover the lands between Eglinton & 401. Scarborough annexed the West Rouge in 1973 following several years of negotiations.

Mississauga followed Vaughan in getting Toronto rapid transit that crossed borders... at least for this year, 2023 or 2024. Next Richmond Hill.
When the subway went into Vaughan it was mostly to get Vaughan people into Toronto. When it goes to Richmond hill it will be mostly to get Richmond hill people into Toronto. When renforth station opens up it will be mostly to bring torontonians to and from the airport.

Not sure that’s entirely true, there are a lot of people using it to come into Toronto from Mississauga now.

The section of Mississauga north of Eglinton Avenue and west of Renforth is commercial. It is expected many of those parking lots will be redeveloped into new commercial buildings because of the access to the Renforth Station for the Line 5 extension. From link.

The MiWay Transitway has two stations in the vicinity, Renforth Station (5001 Commerce Boulevard) and Orbitor Station (5015 Orbitor Drive). So expect to see more people from Toronto travelling to Mississauga reaching Renforth Station. Likely walking the rest of the way to avoid paying the extra fare (at the moment, subject to change).
