I don't hate it, but as I said, its quality is only average (judging my personal experience), and I just don't see why people seem to look forward to it that much, maybe it is the "the first store" factor or the "Japanese factor" (people line up for anything Japanese, let it be a ramen house, or cheesecake with 10% cheese or Muji). I shopped at Uniqlo several times and was never impressed. Slightly better than H&M, but Zara is better.
I think most people would settle for "slightly better than H&M". Clothing is expensive, and with Saks and Nordstrom coming to the Eaton Centre, there are fewer and fewer options for stores that don't break the bank. The problem is, most "affordable" clothing feels cheap, or looks cheap. H&M often suffers from this. Zara is often too fashion forward, and too often relies on cheap materials. Uniqlo seems like the best bang for your buck. $40 merino wool sweaters, $50 selvedge jeans. Hard to beat that with most other brands.
