There was a drone crew on-site flying over the old bridge taking some video.

Removal of the bridge exposes an opportunity. The second floor above Oakley can now be used as a high profile store, mirroring the Harry Rosen on the other side. The new bridge will run from the middle of the gallery.

There's room for a store about the standard width with room still left for a hallway to the office tower. Or they can take over Second Cup, Kiels, and the soon to close BCBG and create another megastore facing Queen Street.

It will extend south from east of where the previous one was.

Walked by just now and this area feels way less claustrophobic without the bridge.

I agree, I didn't think it would make much difference but it really opens up the east west vistas.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that removing the bridge would open up the vistas. The streetscape looks better without it--an elegant canyon of new and old.

And convert the streetcar system to ground-level power supply, as in Reims, to get rid of unsightly overhead cables!
