Toronto DUKE Condos | 25.91m | 7s | TAS | BDP Quadrangle

Pronounced "duKAY", I presume.

I asked TAS's president and CEO, Mazyar Mortazavi, about this on Monday, and he said its pronounced as normal (i.e. like the G.I. Joe character). This is probably why they have all their promotions spelling it in all caps ("DUKE") such as to not cause confusion.

I really like the prospect of white brick, I can't think of any recent condo that's used white brick. I wish Quadrangle was always on point like this, West Harbour City could've been really unique if they took its classic massing and applied this sort of patterning and geometric stacking to the design (as opposed to a lame Art Deco knock-off).

…and a new story here, featuring the development's recently released live-work units.

The white brick here is great. It fits the context of the white brick salvation army right across the street, which is probably the most prominent building in the immediate area until this is built.

Glad to see this one has broken ground. The Junction is only getting better, and Duke should be a great addition, bringing the revitalization to the area east of Keele.

I hope this project brings more life to the area, it always strikes me to see how many storefronts are for rent and/or just sitting empty. The Junction is a beautiful neighbourhood with some really great shops, but yet the streets are very quiet sometimes (at least during the day).
