This looks absolutely fantastic. Lovely choice of brick. I really love the ghost window motif — that’s tough to pull off without it looking hokey, but they’ve managed the feat here.
This is a really nice touch — the wrap on the hoarding is an ode to both essential workers and a snapshot of a swath of Torontonians wearing all sorts of different types of masks.
It kind of looks like one of those old buildings where at some point, the owner stopped caring about the aesthetics of the exterior and cut new windows wherever a window was desirable for the interior. And for structural stability, they had to brick up the old windows.
At first I wasn't sold on the choice of brick colour, but I guess they wanted to closely match the facade of the original hotel. The details are well done.
Love it! In person, the effect of the brick window outlines is a bit muted, but that might have been lighting conditions. Hopefully they stand our a bit more with better lighting/weathering of the facade. It's a great build overall.
