True, but Bloor, Yorkville is a critically important part of the city. The project would've had an out-sized impact for that reason.

It's private development replacing mixed use, occupied blocks in one of the busiest, vibrant neighbourhoods in the downtown. Good or bad, projects like the Well, One Yonge, Cityplace, Southcore, Fort York and Sugar Wharf have made a larger impact on the city than a pair of quality super talls in Yorkville.

I wouldn't discount the appeal of 2 quality supertalls, but my impression was there was much, much more involved than that. It was almost a city block.

I'm not sure why Holts decided being on the corner wasn't appealing but it wouldn't be the first baffling thing Holts did. So with the winning design nixed where does that leave things?

What winning design was 'nixed'? A private entity had a design competition from which a winner was selected. This was never intended to be the basis for a real development, it was merely a vision of what could happen if a significant number of other factors fell into place. Can we please stop treating this as though it was the basis for a municipal submission?

Only 1 underground level, due to the subway tunnel right under the site.
This level will be a concourse level, with some parking above ground.

WTF is a 'Sun Beamer'? Likely one of the first things to get cut, along with the large cantilevered box. Also was wondering why there are almost 1000 bicycle parking spaces-seems excessive, no?

Definitely a different approach than what B+H proposed - which was maxing out as many units as possible - mind you with smaller, less refined towers.
