Metrolinx will probably pretend this thing is gonna open in September 2021 until October 1st of that year. They're so absurdly full of crap when it comes to anything relating to transparency. It was bound to happen..... Not officially confirmed yet but im sure Metrolinx will reveal themselves.
Yup. Ottawa's LRT was supposed to only be like a 6 month delay at first. Ended up being much longer. The stickler is that it's only 7 months. I wouldn't be surprised if it was 2 years.
ML has a contract that calls for delivery in Sept 2021 and for contractual/legal reasons they will have to insist on that date. But the more they insist on talking to that date, when it can’t happen, the more impotent and in denial they will sound.
I take no joy in this. I'm dyin' to use it.
Before the critics come out, forecast anything a decade ahead and see how close you come. This is largely on time and as big a number as $300 million is, it's a 2% variance with $12.2 billion.
Line 5 construction.What costs $12.2 Billion?
I think you mean 5.3 billion...Line 5 construction.

Even then, 12.2 billion sounds completely off. I recall the contract being 9.1 billion dollars.5.3 billion for constriction... 12.2 Billion in total cost including maintenance over 30(I think) years.
After what the Ontario Gov did to hamilton. The media is now reporting the total contract cost instead of just parroting Metrolinx's capital cost. I love it.
It depends if it's 2010 dollars, 2019 dollars or 2051 dollars (30 years after expected completion).Even then, 12.2 billion sounds completely off. I recall the contract being 9.1 billion dollars.

$9.1B Crosstown LRT mega-contract comes in under estimates
The deal with Crosslinx includes 30 years of maintenance for the new transit line.www.thestar.com
It is pretty disingenuous.5.3 billion for constriction... 12.2 Billion in total cost including maintenance over 30(I think) years.
