This video is from 4 years ago, explaining the underpinning being done under Eglinton Station. Bet this is why everything is s-l-o-w in completing the stations. Why don't they just say that is the reason we are so behind.
It's answered here:I’m sure this is answered already, but what is the new concrete structure in the middle of Yonge street, north of Eglinton? Is that a future entrance or will the road simply have a divider there? Looks like more than a divider though.
It's a ventilation shaft. I remember asking the Crosstown team about this and they insisted it couldn't be accommodated under the roadway (such as those you'll see on Spadina Rd) and so there's a small median structure on the North side of the intersection.
