I`m no engineer, but those pillars/supports don't look right to me. Are my eyes bad, or are they slanted/askew?

Those columns are designed to be like that. A couple floors below, the corresponding columns are slightly further in towards the core. They are angled like that so they can meet the columns which are further out a couple of floors above.
