Zoning in this area requires more parking than you typically see in downtown today. I believe it meets the standard rates in 569-2013, which rarely happens downtown anymore.

Interesting. Is that because it's close to the Distillery and the city felt the need to have additional parking here, or is it just old zoning?

I wonder if this will end up like CityPlace, where the developer still owns unsold parking spots in many towers as a result of the minimum parking requirements being too excessive? These empty spots end up costing everyone more in terms of maintenance fees. Developers should be able to build parking based on demand, or at least build/sell it in a way that allows private spots to be turned into visitor spots if they go unsold.
