Looks like they've continued installing on the north side, to reveal... louvres! You can see them on the webcam. If that isn't enough to convince someone that the base of this thing is shaping up to be a dog's breakfast I'm not sure what will be.

Wow - you really seam to have a hate on for this project.

More glass has been installed on the second floor of the north east corner and the third floor of the south side. East side hasn't changed much.

What exactly are these connectors supposed to be for?
And does anyone else get the sense that this glass is slightly darker the rest of the cladding we've seen so far?

i really really like that dark cladding in the first pic ^^^ it covers up the bare concrete wall perfectly and looks really good at the same time. I dig the dark tone(s) of the cladding, it's a great switch from the bright blue glass that we've seen.... everything about this tower is turning out better than I expected. it's quite awesome.

When I saw that cladding myself, the first thing that came to mind was the black granite of the Four Seasons. I thought it looked nearly as dark, and it'll turn out quite well after more of it is installed.

I agree. The darker shades in the glass are going to contrast really nicely on the skyline with the sea of light blue and light green that is going up (as if the height of this thing wasn't going to draw enough attention to it!).

Come to think of it, those shades look pretty similar to those on the two buildings that went up a few years ago on the southeast side of College & Yonge (not sure what they're called). They have a similar dark blue-ish tint to them.

The Met & Met Encore

I've never seen cladding go on so early in a project's construction. Is there a possibility they want to have the retail podium section in operation by the time the tower is topped out?

The retail podium of the building will be completed and opened by next summer.

Beyond the lofty height and underground extension I was not very excited about this project, but with this sharp cladding I think this building is really going to shine.
