Does anybody know for sure if the mouth of Soudan Ave. (at Yonge) is being moved slightly South, or widened, to line up slightly better with Berwick Ave. across Yonge? The intersection is a mess sometimes now, with people getting confused, stopping in the wrong place, etc. Given the cut off NW corner of the building going up, it seems "obvious" that this is going to happen, but I haven´t seen any mention of this anywhere.

Where in the city have you seen a part of a building cut off so that a road can run past it? It's just a small indentation to widen the sidewalk at this spot and mark a building retail entrance.

You're probably right, but that said, I don't think it's completely implausible either. Look at the extension of Doris in North York, at an angle, from Byng to Finch, between and besides several new towers, and partially on land that the city expropriated for the purpose. Same deal with Beechcroft on the other side of Yonge. The indentation on the NW corner of the Art Shoppe condos is about 30 feet, and the angle pretty much would perfectly line up Soudan with Berwick.

I can't find it, but it was on some report that it was a goal to properly connect these disjointed east-west intersections.

Your answer can be found in the Planning Rationale for the building proposed across Soudan to the north:

To the south of the subject site, on the south side of Soudan Avenue, is the Art Shoppe mixed- use development which is currently under construction and comprises a 28-storey tower (98.8 metres including mechanical penthouse), with a 12-storey base building that wraps around the width of the block. The development has been designed to allow for the future realignment of Soudan Avenue, so as to align with Berwick Avenue on the west side of Yonge Street…

…so yes, I expect it would happen at the end of the construction of Art Shoppe Condos!

WillTo & Interchange42 are correct,.... southeast corner of Yonge & Soudan never meant to be Public Square, but conveyed to City for road alignment,..... City got park-space on Hillsdale Ave

Land conveyance to City happens all the time, typically for wider pedestrian sidewalks,... but also for improved road alignment, at least in North York Centre,.... here, dotted line shows old curb (in 8 year old Final Report "existing curb" vs "new curb") and property line at northwest corner of Yonge & Poyntz,... and land developer was required to convey to City,... so that part of their EmeraldPark "building cut off so that a road can run past it",.... this was done so Poyntz Ave would align with Anndale Drive extension from Tridel HullmarkCentre development on other side of Yonge St.
