Toronto Aria | ?m | 19s | Fernbrook Homes | Rafael + Bigauskas

I passed by the site this morning and they were in the midst of dismantling the crane for phase 2. I don't understand the logic in doing so though as they haven't finished pouring the conrete for that building and I'm quite sure that the phase 1 crane can't even reach that area.

A new (smaller) crane has been put up bringing the total number back to two (one for each phase). I suspect that they got rid of the original phase 2 crane since it would have interfered with the installation of cladding. The new crane looks to be running up the elevator shaft of phase 2.

A friend passed by the site yesterday and took the following......looks like it's progressing well. Phase one on the left, phase two on the right.

A quick update:

- Phase 1 looks to be nearly done the final floor of condo's. I suspect there is likely going to be another floor for mechanical and that should be it.
- The Aria Towns have been released (currently in the VIP/broker stage). There was a line up of people for the towns a few days ago. Pricing starts at $699K for about 2,200 square feet (includes double car garage).

A few pics plus a render of the towns (none of the pics were taken by me, they were sent to me by a friend) :

If you could please thank your insider friend. Great pictures from within the site... I still think November-December moving-in date is quite a possibility.

I think people on the lower floors of both buildings may get to move in by year's end, but we'll see.

Floorplans for the towns have been posted at www.ariatowns.com

Of the 41 towns, 29 have apparently already been sold!

One thing is for sure - they didn't have problems selling out the highrises and now the townhouses. I remember that about 80% of the units in Phase 1 were sold at the first few days of the opening.

Thanks to the subway no doubt. (That's for all the Sheppard 'Stub' haters out there-you know who you are)

For me that was good 40% of the reason. The rest was it's relative distance from downtown (oops, it's a sacrilege to say something like this here) but it takes me only 35min to get to Union, if needed. Ah, not to forget - the lack of beggars etc, so abundant in downtown is another reason.

Interesting enough, there are almost no add for re-sell, which means people are buying to live and not for investment (for the most part). Big plus for me.

Bash_Maistor, there should be no units whatsoever listed for resale at this time as that is strictly prohibited as per the Agreement of Purchase. Menkes did not want people "flipping" during the construction period (at least, that's how it was when I bought in 2007 and when a friend bought in early 2009).
