Castle Frank is one of the few Bloor-Danforth line stations with architectural flare, but it's still restrained.

Actually, there has been a very recent "updating": the vestibule seen on the left here (which is rather felicitous, all things considered)

Actually, there has been a very recent "updating": the vestibule seen on the left here (which is rather felicitous, all things considered)

The west entrance (on Bloor) is a completely new addition to the station that was designed based on the primary eastern entrance. It was a pretty significant construction project while underway, providing an exit from track level and making the walk from the station to Parliament Street a bit more bearable!

Just to clarify, IBM was only a leased tenant in this complex, twice. Their head office at that time was 3500 Steeles east, and ten years later it was the building I am sitting in right now, 3600 Steeles east. If anyone is interested, I can take some pics of these two buildings scale models. The 3500 complex was quite the place at that time, with Orange and Blue tunnels and subway style windows. 3600 is also quite the place but built in 1990 and not as eclectic. Of course both of these buildings are really in Markham so I have not thought to include them here.

Just to clarify, IBM was only a leased tenant in this complex, twice. Their head office at that time was 3500 Steeles east, and ten years later it was the building I am sitting in right now, 3600 Steeles east. Further clarification:

IBM originally moved only the GBG Division (General Business Group) into 105 Moatfield. The bulk of the headquarters staff remained at 1150 Eglinton - now a Celestica building. The moves to Markham followed soon after.

Thank you for the additional info. I knew it wasn’t IBM now (there is a giant Kraft sign hanging above the main entrance!) but I was under the impression that this complex had IBM as its main tenant when it opened in 1982. (very very late for a building of this style).
