That's Etobicoke's old town hall in there at the southwest corner of the site, pre-Burnhamthorpe and West Mall relocation. My doctor's office just happens to be in the PoMo medical building at the east end of the site. Hmm…

Quite the addition to the back of the historic town hall. This project has the perfect scale for the neighbourhood, and I hope to see much more like it for the rest of the Islington Village strip.

Granted, this area cries for redevelopment.
But retirement home ? Would you like your parents or yourself to live at this busy intersection ?
It's perfect location for an office building. Close to Islington subway, and TTC and Mississauga buses.

It's a pleasant stretch of Dundas Street with lots of retail and restaurants within walking distance. Office buildings make more sense right on the subway, and Mississauga buses won't be close by the end of this year when they move to Kipling station. There's nothing at all different from putting a retirement residence here than on any other arterial in the city, and the TTC buses just out the door with a short ride to the subway will be a boon to the residents… so yes, I'd be perfectly comfortable with my parents or myself living here.

New rendering updated in the database. Building storey went from 10 storeys to 9 storeys. Building height changed from 40.54m to 39.3m. The unit count went from 210 to 199 and parking count reduced from 51 to 41.

Renderings are taken from the architectural plan via rezoning submission.

The new design is more complementary to the heritage Township Hall. Good.

Design looks like a downgrade to me. More spandrel heavy and no more arches and flourishes.

No new renderings are updated it. The only update is the overall building height increased slightly from 39.30m to 40.30m.

Fencing surrounds the property. I can't recall if this was there on my last visit to the area earlier in the summer or not but the owners should knock this thing down soon before it burns down. Photos from September 17th

This has been fenced off for a while now and I'm surprised the building is still standing.

There used to be a big Jumbo Video store there that a buddy of mine worked at in the late 90's. Occasionally I'd come visit him and hang out in the middle of the night during his graveyard shift after I'd been partying at the bars and clubs downtown, and he'd put porn on the overhead tv's while we'd chat for a couple of hours.

In a strange celebrity encounter, one time Michael Rooker came in at like 2 in the morning while I was there chilling. He seemed like a bit of a strange guy. Came off as vaguely creepy.

Do you remember the Armchair Theatre video store right across from Power?
