I'm liking the tower more than I thought I would.....the curve is handled nicely.............. I'm still undecided on the podiums......my instinct here is that the over sized first and second floors are a poor choice, I would have preferred to see them meet the heritage building floor to floor. Failing that, I would have preferred to see the top of level 1 line up with the top of level 2.......etc. to create a relationship between the two buildings.

Still, I'll wait on the podium cladding before passing final judgement.

While there's no inherent problem with a firm like TFAI taking on working drawings, there is a distinct difference between this (where Madison ensured Steve cashed his cheque and wandered over to Wide Open for a pint) and Elm-Ledbury (where Fitzrovia kept HPA involved with design decisions). The results speak for themselves. This is...as expected.

…by a 100km and a dog’s life.

Bizarre that there's no post at the core of that brick column.
I guess that the brick pattern automatically ties it back into the brick wall for support,
so it's not all resting on that thin metal plate.

I like the overall look of the tower and podium and heritage building.
The "faceted" corners (convex and concave) of the new building subtly references the chamfered corner of the heritage building.
