Board-formed concrete takes on the rings of the tree the boards were cut from. Go check it out around the base of River City 2 and 3, or the original buildings at U of T Scarborough College. When done well, it's full of organic lines giving the warm feel. It can be great!I’m not sure how. As a material, concrete tends to have the opposite effect. It is barren and not very inviting. I wonder how it would look if the arches alternated between brick and board-formed concrete, in succession. That might look too busy, though.
Do my eyes deceive me, or has that double-height space under the arches been bisected by a new floor? ?
