I’m surprised that there aren’t more proposals towards the new GO station.

Seems things are in a holding pattern until more regular GO train service. West Harbour GO also has multiple developments next to it on hold. I've heard rumors that 30 minute service is on the horizon for West Harbour, and so those developers seem to be waiting so they can get more money. Kind of unfortunate though since more service is predicated on more ridership which would surely be helped by residents living next to the station.

Is there any plan for traffic calming along Queenston, east of Eastgate? The area is absolutely miserable for pedestrians.

None as far as I am aware. I think the city has long term plans to add off-street bike lanes, but not much beyond that.
