Though I realise that some of us around here hate the balconies at 75 The Esplanade, I really think they look fine - particularly when their 'ceilings' have been painted.
Overall I think it’s a very nice building…it’s also got a really nice vibe on the inside…(despite not being finished)

I agree they look messy from afar but I find street level views are better. Starts to separate more when you're closer

I would say some efforts have been made here to fit this larger building into the established neighbourhood. These would include a broken up red brick panel podium with heights varying some what in line with surrounding buildings, metal awning frames at ground level to create a pedestrian realm, a white setback tower with an interesting North East corner window pattern. I'm not saying it's prefect but I do see a reasonable amount of thought went into this project which to me is positive.

I’m looking forward to the first real sidewalk ever on the south side. Maybe 1 to 2 weeks more?

That's a cheerful addition.

Nice to see that the sidewalk here is floating, and there is room for tree root growth. Also good time of year to plant, as long as the species aren't nut/cone bearing.

What is it with the trend to install over-size outdoor bathtubs as an amenity?

Good question!

I am not convinced we are getting trees on The Esplanade but .....

Goodness, Mr. End (@ProjectEnd)...they didn't use bargain basement grey spandrel to cover up their back ally walls. Granted, that's probably still less refined materials in compariso n to the rest of 75, but it doesn't appear to be scraping at the bottom here....

And an amazing mural too!!
