Developers should get fined for doing things like this:

The rainbows were done in time for World Pride in June, for crying out loud. And at $80k an intersection, according to a friend of mine who lives in the neighbourhood. I would expect the developer to pay for it to return to the way he / she found it.

I hope it gets restored to the way it was before. It certainly adds a lot to the character of the neighbourhood.

No point in making the developer re-do it when the entire street is supposed to be resurfaced now anyway. It was completely stupid to put the rainbow crosswalks in before resurfacing to begin with.
 
As a crisp graphic, from that angle at any rate, I think it looks pretty cool. Having said that, I get why people are upset and agree that the rainbow ought to be restored as soon as possible. Too often this kind of casual street butchery and slapdash repair is tolerated.

The podium looks like it'll turn out decently, at least colour wise. I can't fathom why the decision was made to shift to toothpaste-blue and overcast day-grey on the tower portion.
