Man that streetscape is bleak. The King Street improvements can't come soon enough. Here's a similar shot of a street in Cobourg from last week that just shows the difference some bump-outs with trees, street furniture (and retail units filled) can make.

Kudos to the developers for the renovations to the facades on King Street East.

I'm actually happy to see it returned to white, perhaps simply due to nostalgia. Plus it provides a nice neutral counter to the eye-popping P.J. O'Brien across the street.

They should have (cleverly-designed)incorporated some "peekaboo" elements of the original brick (left unpainted).

Good news. Looks like it was painted a tasteful off white. Like a very light brick colour.

I don't think there was much of an option considering the bizarre patchwork of brick colours. I'm actually curious about the story behind this building; has it just been altered so many times in its history? Or was it built with whatever bricks they had lying around with the intent to paint it since day one? I've seen mismatched brick buildings before, but never to this extent.
