i see the public realm has been brought to Toronto standards, a few shoddy uneven asphalt patches, dead tree littered with cigarette butts - check!

You do not get the sense that this passageway leads anywhere. The treatment on the ceiling and the wall were totally unnecessary, especially since it doesn't increase the awareness of the space beyond.
