Also, who'd be willing to pay a fortune to live in this ant hill?
With any luck, this will be another "The Pemberton". Maybe completion around 2040? At least The One residents would be able to enjoy those sunset views for 10-15 years? This is a gut punch to anyone who bought suites on the west side of 'The One' with the expectation of spectacular sunset views, but it works both ways. Why would Reserve want to handicap almost 50% of their own sales by building so close to two existing towers?
Perhaps, but luck and a prayer rarely make for good urban planning. With any luck, this will be another "The Pemberton". Maybe completion around 2040? At least The One residents would be able to enjoy those sunset views for 10-15 years?
It's quite embarrassing, really...especially if the new buyer caps it at 85. Sam is sure winding up for that schadenfreude moment... /sighWhoa, premium west-facing units at The One just got f*****, haha.
...and bonus cookies for eluding to a classic Python reference there, though. <3Aren't you ever the optimist? I was thinking 3bdrm each with a twin mattress, no frame, no side tables, overhead lighting only, no closet. Clothes are kept in the self-storage in Etobicoke!
The buildings contrast too much, in a bad way and they're too simular in height. If it were shorter it could have created a nice step down appearance but together at that height they make for a jarring pair of dissimilar twin towers.
Or they can go higher than the One creating a retangular pencil style tower like 1200 Bay st. Giving the One more breathing space since they're practically the same hieght !The buildings contrast too much, in a bad way and they're too simular in height. If it were shorter it could have created a nice step down appearance but together at that height they make for a jarring pair of dissimilar twin towers.
The problem with this insane proposal is that they are cramming so many units into such a condensed space, which are bound to be investor shoe sized boxes with horrid unusable/useless layout floor space, combined with a lack of elevators which will screw every single person who will live in this building.People complain all the time that we're only building luxury condos, and now you're all complaining about how these units aren't going to be nice enough? I swear, people will never be satisfied.
They are both symptoms of this real estate investment mess Torontonians still accept for the greater good....we need more adequate living spaces is not the same as "we need more housing".
Why don't you think people in market housing should have a good quality of life?People complain all the time that we're only building luxury condos, and now you're all complaining about how these units aren't going to be nice enough? I swear, people will never be satisfied.
