This is a gut punch to anyone who bought suites on the west side of 'The One' with the expectation of spectacular sunset views, but it works both ways. Why would Reserve want to handicap almost 50% of their own sales by building so close to two existing towers?

With any luck, this will be another "The Pemberton". Maybe completion around 2040? At least The One residents would be able to enjoy those sunset views for 10-15 years?

Whoa, premium west-facing units at The One just got f*****, haha.
It's quite embarrassing, really...especially if the new buyer caps it at 85. Sam is sure winding up for that schadenfreude moment... /sigh

Aren't you ever the optimist? I was thinking 3bdrm each with a twin mattress, no frame, no side tables, overhead lighting only, no closet. Clothes are kept in the self-storage in Etobicoke!
...and bonus cookies for eluding to a classic Python reference there, though. <3

The buildings contrast too much, in a bad way and they're too simular in height. If it were shorter it could have created a nice step down appearance but together at that height they make for a jarring pair of dissimilar twin towers.
Or they can go higher than the One creating a retangular pencil style tower like 1200 Bay st. Giving the One more breathing space since they're practically the same hieght !

People complain all the time that we're only building luxury condos, and now you're all complaining about how these units aren't going to be nice enough? I swear, people will never be satisfied.
The problem with this insane proposal is that they are cramming so many units into such a condensed space, which are bound to be investor shoe sized boxes with horrid unusable/useless layout floor space, combined with a lack of elevators which will screw every single person who will live in this building.

This is literally the definition of cattle herding people into a space and this developer is getting away with providing future appalling trash living conditions, while our idiotic provincial government keeps on pounding their chest saying "we're for the people" and "we need more housing". Yes we need more housing, but the way we're going about doing it is going to screw over so many people.

Unfortunately the general public will take this, because they dont know/dont care to know about how bad things really are until it's too late (ie: see ICE Condominiums). This is literally going to be the redux of ICE, and in my opinion it's frankly even worse.

Genuinely this is going to be one of the worst buildings built in Toronto, ever. And we can thank our screwed up "planning" system and government for it.

The height increase is a good news to help make up for the possible height decrease next door, but Im hoping this is just a placeholder design, because it's unacceptable. It's lower quality than most high rise designs in the 905.

It looks like it was designed in 15 minutes.

And the cheap cladding slapped onto Arcadis "twisting" tower in Mississauga dosen't bode well.
