1636 Charles Street: a proposed 36, 32, 32 & 28-storey mixed-use residential, retail and public park development designed by Turner Fleischer Architects for Tribute Communities on the northwest corner of Charles Street and Watson Street West in the Port Whitby area of Whitby.

Well I figured it was inevitable, but looks like this will displace my beloved Town Brewery. Of course I'm sure they'll have plenty of time to relocate and hopefully reopen with minimal disruption.
 
^^^ street level experience looks ok at first blush, but I'd need to look further into the ground floor plan.

The towers are generic, not terribly offensive, but uninteresting.

They appear a bit blocky; I'm not really expecting better from T-F........but there ya go.

On the park, ditch it.

1st choice, grow the existing waterfront park system by acquiring the property on the east side of Dufferin at Front, or the property on Watson at Bond.

2nd choice, grow 'Watson Park' which already exists on the south side of Watson, 1 block over, but is very small.

Fewer, but bigger, better parks.
