Back in December 2013, BY-LAW No. 1714 was adopted by City Council to update the City's stance on Employment Areas in general, and at the same time make a number of site-speficic amendments in the Official Plan for sites scattered across the city.
One of those sites was 1250 Markham Road, where the following was passed, adding zoning that allowed for senior citizen housing on the north portion of a property containing a church. Here are the details from the By-law:
Now, two years later, there's a plan for a two-tower senior citizens housing complex related to the church on the land. The development is called Trinity Ravine Towers, and the first of two phases is up for sale now.
