So I might be part of a minority here but I actually wouldn't mind seeing a building with similar Massing to this one with the staggered setbacks beating the 300 m mark would definitely fit with our current supertalls being built

The picture I’m replying to features an old looking art deco building pretty prominently. That building is actually abandoned! It looks a lot like Commerce Court North, but it’s not. It’s Whitney Block Tower. It’s been abandoned since the 1960s, due to it not meeting fire code regulations, because it didn’t have enough stairs. Plus, it did not have air conditioning, so office workers were in unbearable heat. Luckily Commerce Court North didn’t have that problem! The Whitney Block is not abandoned however. Just the tower. Essentially the “podium” or low-rise section of the building.
