Glad that they have some disabled suites. Hope the new tenants can take this opportunity to build a new, healthier and more connected life. No more fear, no more pain, no more negativity, just keep your eyes on the future, don't look back.

234 days from Concept-to-Keys...Now to deliver one of these projects every other week for the next couple of years...

Not quite keys yet......still an active construction site today when I passed by, retaining walls are being put in, pathways are being constructed.

But it looks, if they maintain a good-sized crew on site, the could be completely wrapped up before Christmas.

The not-for-profits said that 'Six tenants have moved into Macy as of today.' - during the media-event... not full-occupancy yet, but real people are sleeping there tonight.

The interiors are obviously ready (or at least some are); but when I passed by about noon, surprised they're walking anyone onto that site yet. But ok. Good that people are being housed.

A couple of update photos as this site heads towards a wrap.

* note that the City said this project was done before Christmas...........ahem.....bit of fudging there.......but getting very close now.

First, from January 15th:

You can see here that the site is close, at this point I think they had just finished the retaining walls and were moving on landscape and some other details.

This one is from January 25th, still at it up on the roof:

(and landscape work outstanding)

So that they are not required to spend money putting elevators in. Four floors and higher require elevators.

All of the Toronto Modular-Housing sites have Elevators --- but they are a "different" kind of Elevator than you have for buildings 4+ floors.

Hydraulic -vs- Counter-Weight... or something.

Thanks for that info! Does that type top of elevator out at three storeys, or become exponentially more expensive or something?

Our volunteers have been looking at options for Taller 5-Storey Modular configurations that yield a similar number of Supportive-Studio units to the ROUND-1 sites at MACEY and HARRISON (*now DOVERCOURT), but require less land to accommodate them, making them a better fit for some of the smaller Green-P parking-lots (eg. 0.40 acres) that are around the City.

Hopefully, that is also a strategy that the City will attempt soon. The TRENTON & CUMMER sites (64-units each) are longer than the ROUND-1 sites (approx. ~50 units), rather than going up another floor.
