I'm worried that the office component with be a huge box. I think that would take something away from these towers. The office portion needs to be as creative as those sleek towers. Bremner already has enough boring boxes.

Wasn't Lanterra required to build the office component, as one of the conditions for the residential towers being allowed to proceed? Would there have been a deadline in the zoning bylaw? (Presumably that construction on the office component must start within a certain number of months after the start of construction on the residential towers.) Otherwise, they could drag it out for decades if they wanted to.

I do recall something like this as well ! That's odd though, how can you stipulate something like that if they don't get any pre-leasing, I don't understand the logic behind it, I agree they should be forced to market, but building a empty office building ? Is a lose / lose for everyone !
