Here’s a concept being considered for University Avenue as a part of TO Core:

While I like the median, it’s not being used. Only 3% of all pedestrian traffic on University use the median.

If it’s moved to the East side as is being proposed in this concept, it would create a linear park from Adelaide to Queens Park with the fountains and monuments being moved to this new park. University would go from 8 lanes to 6 with those lanes becoming a part of the linear park.

Other streets being redesigned as a part of TO Core are Spadina, College, Dundas, Queen, King, Front Queens Quay, Bloor, Jarvis, Sherbourne, and Yonge.

The subway is under the median.

Based on the Ctte and Council schedule, I would think it would be on the May 22 Council agenda, of course that's not out yet.

Elsewise it would head to June 26
