From what I have heard, Target will not be content with slapping their name on the old Zellers locations (like Walmart did with Woolco in the 90s). There will be major construction/demolition/rebuilding of the sites.
Rio-Can is the developer of the Stockyards, at St. Clair and Bathurst, where Target Corp. is building a flagship two-storey glass store as part of its entry into Canada.
This means Zellers diners will probably be replaced with a small Starbucks store sadly. During my student days the breakfasts at the Zellers diners was the best deal around!!!
Target's new Distribution Centre is under construction in Milton. 1.3 million square feet located off of Boston Church Road (north of the 401 between James Snow and Hwy. 25).
Interesting. I wonder what will happen to Zellers' offices and distribution centre in Brampton. That complex (Queen/Torbram) was second hand from K-Mart.
I assume this is the second-wave of conversions (after the previously-announced ones)?

Bit of a surprised Target didn't pick up the Gerrard Square spot.
