Stockyards, The (30 Weston Rd. @ St. Clair, retail, Trinity, 2s, GreenbergFarrow)

Should be interesting to see the completed centre portion of this development. That parking garage is looking massive!

will this be more like the Shops at Don Mills, or a Smart Centre? Will there be any kind of square in the centre with Cafes, Restos, or Splash Pad?

It's more urban and sophisticated a development than a Smart Centre. St. Clair will have a continuous streetwall with storefronts and entrances along the main street instead of blank walls and parking lots. However, it's not quite as ambitious as the Shops at Don Mills since there won't be a square or a mix of uses (except for some medical offices).

They have about 25,000 sq ft of office space for lease at this time.

If you look at the west side of the north west building, you think a trucking company was using that area as a warehouse with the amount of truck loading docks there.

There better be a good landscaping plan for the area along the concrete retaining wall.

Don't count on it.

That retaining wall is a miss opportune considering it was mostly grade level in the first place.

You could have put 2 level of parking in that area with more development on top of it along with residential. You could have some retail at grade to get rid of the barrier wall.

They did actually expore the options of putting below grade parking at that corner of the site - but weren't feasible.
From what I can remember the ground conditions on the north part of this site are horrible.

Wouldn't it be nice if St Clair streetcar was extended west of Gunns to reduce turning impacts on the increased traffic arising from this... but I don't see that happening in Palacioland.

Waiting for the new underpass at St. Clair/Scarlett/Dundas first. Then extend the 512 St. Clair to loop at Jane/Dundas/Scarlett.
