Rob Ford's Brother Lashes Out at Kevin Spacey on YouTube Show (Video)

I don’t know what’s up with the lo-def audio quality on their show, sounds like it was recorded under the Get Smart 'cone of silence'. I guess Lavalier mics are part of the gravy train.

Anyway, ya this is a great coda to Rob’s Star-Studded and Triumphant Trip To Hollywood.

Jesus, Rob, you have ONE job!

Interesting point. I'm in Ottawa now (lived in TO for a decade, he said defensively), and I was listening to CBC this morning, and they were talking about the Quebec provincial election that's just been called. 33 DAYS. That's the campaign period. That's it. I cannot for the life of me figure out WHY it's 10 months in Toronto, and who in their right mind would want to campaign for that long. It's just not sensible on any level, and I bet the only reason Tory, or Chow, are getting in before summer is the optics of not getting in sooner, and voters' desperate need to see a Ford slayer emerge. It's crazy to me that people are angry with Chow for not wanting to spend 10 whole months in the muck with Rob Ford. But I understand the desperation.

It was explained in Post #22657:

"It makes sense for it to be long when it's not just about political parties. People need time to get to know the alternatives, or otherwise the incumbent would have a massive advantage. Ford has been campaigning for a year now, imagine if the official campaign had 3 months - all candidates would have to compete on those few months versus Ford's 2 years."

Could the fact that Kevin Spacey has been widely rumored to be gay factored into the Ford's choice of him as an attack target?

Okay, this is the second time Kevin Spacey's sexuality has been brought into this forum. I'm not going to bother writing it out again, but please take a look at what I previously wrote, and don't spread unknowns as truth:

Nonsense. I care about the aesthetic future of this town, hence RenderPornStar and NimbyTect. You know that.

As for public transit, I just want my bus to be on time and those annoying kids to turn their music down.

You sound pretty much like Rob Ford. You only care about the things that effect you directly and the hell with everyone else. Why am I not surprised to see a selfish Ford National, say shit like that? Hell, I expect that kind of thinking from a Ford supporter.

iirc the Orthodox community loved RF 4 year's ago--I know some of them donated generously to his campaign. I wonder who'll get their vote this year?

And as the the Scarberia Way, well they can always add more stations in the decades to come. Perhaps every station will be surrounded by 100 condo towers?

Taxes always go up and tax dollars are always wasted--gov't fact. I could care less about tax $. I can manage my own finances just fine.

After the Toronto Eruv fiasco last year (March) I'm inclined to think he is no longer well thought of in the Orthodox community....

Kevin Spacey was on Kimmel on Oscar night - the night Rob made his slapstick entrance one day early. Off the top, Spacey told a throwaway one liner - Kimmel asked him how he was getting on sharing a dressing room with Rob, and Spacey said that 'he'd thrown up all over it.'

Joke over, everyone pretty much forgets it. Except Doug Ford who has never heard the saying 'Let sleeping dogs lie' and now we are all stuck with the image of Ford vomit all over Kevin Spacey's dressing room. On the upside, it's hilarious to hear Doug whining on again about the 'common folk'. He must think we live in Middle Earth.

That wasn't where my mind first went.

I think this is purely to keep his name out there. The strategy is that this will go viral & then they can bask in free publicity. Also, if journalists are asking him about this, they aren't asking him tougher, relevant-to-the-election questions.

To that point, my heart swelled a bit yesterday when my twitter feeds filled up with up-to-the-moment reports of Olivia's campaign kick off. I was brought back to reality when I watched the evening news (CBC & CTV). The news reports heavily focused on what Olivia had to say about running against Rob - or at least that was my cynical take on it.

I didn't say he WAS gay, just that there are rumors that he is. This he might be an attractive target to attack as a dogwhistle to homophobic element of Ford Nation. Whether he is actually gay or not I have no idea, and who cares. Point is, fits a pattern of the Fords using homophobia to build support. I am gay btw, if it matters.

My issue isn't that he is or is not gay, but that people perpetuate the speculation of supermarket tabloids that he MUST be gay because he hasn't been spotted on a date. It gets passed around and around, but there is zero to base it on. Truth cannot be created from absence of data.

oh c'mon relax. Are you familiar with the concept of gaydar? When 90% of gay people believe someone to be gay, the chances of them being gay are like 90%.

The speculation around his sexuality doesn't exclusively come from the supermarket tabloids, it largely comes from the gay community.
