I heard Matt Galloway on CBC interviewing Brown this morning; Brown was backpedalling and struggling to explain his position, and Matt wasn't letting him away with it.

I think Brown has imposed a leash law on Dougie's mouth, and he has been quite quiet. Maybe he, as Cho's campaign manager, was part of Brown's campaign "team". Maybe Dougie leaked the letter? Brown made his weird sort-of retraction. I haven't seen or heard an apology, just denials and claims he'd been misrepresented. That fits the Fordian M.O.

Could this be an attempt by Doug to blow up Brown's electability? Doug did want to become leader of the OPC.
Granted, Brown is doing himself no favors in his response to this issue.

Maybe the paper/Paul Godfrey just couldn't stomach the idea of nuking Brown. When your anointed one make a slip, it's best to stay quiet.

Though this might have overtones of "age/health trolling" (cf. the teabagger-and-Trumpster treatment of Ruth Bader Ginsburg or HRC herself), I *have* been wondering if Cho these days (though he's always been a bit dotty) is "all there"--and if so, whether his team (DoFo most of all) is taking cynical advantage of his weakness...
