On the subject of Renata (and this is what prompted me to finally sign up here), I was on Facebook earlier this morning, and was looking through the "what's trending" page on there with Rob Ford posts. She posted this:

"Rob and myself fell in love thru politics I was more into international politics and my husband was into Canadain politics.we believe in being trustworthy and work for the people not the opposite. The media John Tory and Ms. Wynne weré drove us to work so hard for the people where they are sneaky. He was a honest politician." And yeah, I, too, was thinking of "international politics" in terms of whatever Brejnak kitchen-table blather about Poland over time.

And come to think of it, Polish politics over the past generation has been defined by its own RoFoDoFo combo: the Kaczynski twins (and just as in Toronto, one of the pair's now dead)

Whose legacy I can see Renata (and her family) supporting, since their cause is like Ford Nation drenched in kapusta: anti-elite right-wing ultra-nationalism that's Proudly Nationalist and Anti-Communist, fighting or persecuting scourges ranging from homosexuality to Islam, trying to meddle with parliamentary laws in a way worthy of DoFo, etc...

Actually, I'm finding myself backhandedly willing to go along with Tory's decision, on "display it out in the open and let the raw Ford bozodom spectacle speak for itself" grounds. It's in the same way that all these memorial gestures thus far--condolence book, chalking, Douglas Ford Park memorializing--have turned out much more underwhelming or even downright tatty than was bargained for; and not even endless CP24 or CFRB coverage can make that dog hunt...

I do seem to recall, within a different long-ago context in UT, someone outing you as a drug dealer. Maybe (or not) that was vicious slander and untruth; but somehow, your Ford support lends implicit credence to that possibility.

Doubt very much council was aware of the funeral march to the church.
I wonder if this just sweet revenge, these are the same councilors who stripped him of most of his powers. Karma Ford style

I thought so too. Dougie made some statements today that echoed this place.

I'm sure he checks for heads up info that he will ignore as he continues on his quest to rule the world like the brain only well... No brains.
 
All the memories are kind of retraumatizing so I'm trying to look Fordward.

I'm working on a platform for Doug to run on. Your input would be welcome.

So far I've got:

1. Casinos (Etobicoke deserves Casinos)

2. Monorails (not LRTs)

3. Yuuge Ferris Wheels (everyone deserves Ferris Wheels)

That's it. Even Dougie Jr Jr could canvas Ward 2 on that.

If you must go there then you must realize that there is a downside to all signs. As lofty a Sag can be they can also fall to sloth, laziness, and as you state, can be dismissive and arrogant.
